A Memorable Sri Lankan Adventure with RG Sports Tours

At RG Sports Tours, we strive to deliver unforgettable experiences for everyone, and our recent tour to Sri Lanka showcased our approach. With 50 players and 44 supporters our 15-day tour was a great success.

Our journey began with excitement at Sydney International Airport as the teams prepared to embark on their adventure. After a comfortable flight with Sri Lankan Airlines, the teams arrived at Bandaranaike International Airport, where our representative warmly welcomed the tour party. The first night was spent in comfort at Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo, setting the tone for an incredible journey ahead.

The tour seamlessly combined high-energy cricket matches with enriching cultural experiences. The teams immersed themselves in local life with a city tour of Colombo, exploring vibrant streets and historical landmarks such as Independence Square, Nelum Pokuna, Pettah Bazaar, and BMICH. The days were filled with competitive matches against local teams, including Wesley College, Lumbini, and St. Peter’s, with the action continuing in Kandy and Habarana.

Beyond the cricket field, our itinerary offered a diverse array of spectacular experiences. The teams climbed the iconic Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a breathtaking adventure with panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. In Habarana, they enjoyed an exhilarating jeep safari through the forest, spotting wildlife and marveling at the lush scenery.

The cultural journey continued with a visit to Kandy Dalada Maligawa, the Temple of the Tooth Relic, where the teams experienced the sacred traditions of Sri Lankan Buddhism. They also visited a turtle hatchery, witnessing the vital conservation efforts to protect these fascinating creatures.

Each day was thoughtfully balanced with relaxation, cultural immersion, and delicious local cuisine. The final leg of the journey brought the teams to Beruwela, where they enjoyed additional matches and some well-deserved downtime. Before departing, the teams had a memorable farewell night at the hotel, celebrating their experiences and friendships forged during the tour. Optional activities included visiting the SOS Children’s Village and playing a round of golf at the Royal Colombo Golf Club, providing a perfect way to conclude the tour.

As the teams headed back to Australia, they carried with them not just the memories of intense matches and stunning sights, but also the joy of new friendships and cultural exchanges. At RG Sports Tours, we are thrilled to have facilitated this extraordinary journey, and we look forward to creating more remarkable experiences for our clients in the future.
